The theme of the October 2018 HORROR/HALLOWEEN Film Festival in Toronto was “Desire vs Reality”.
All films were about someone wanting to create or be a part of something so they can get away from reality.
A lot of firsts are our 7th annual Horror/Halloween showcase of the best shorts film festival.
– Mary Cox, a veteran programmer of the festival moderated the event for the first time. And she did a fantastic job.
– This was the first time in over 100 events that one film swept all of the festival winner categories. All great films but it was just one of those nights where there was an overall winner.
– All horror films were presented, but each film had a secondary genre attached to each film: Animation, Drama, Experimental, Fantasy, Romance, Sci-Fi, Thriller. So it was definitely a Horror Festival, but is was a lineup loaded with much more.
Baby #2 is coming any day now for the Toffolo household, so I’ll be off from the day to day of the festival. No worries as we have a fantastic team.
