The HORROR OCTOBER 2017 FEEDBACK Film Festival was truly a great success.

The theme of the festival was “DOORS”.

Every film showcased had a “DOOR” part of the plot of the film!

NOTE: This was a showcase of the best HORROR films from around the world. Our 2nd HORROR Film Festival for the 2017 season.

There is a lady who attends almost every single film festival event we do in Toronto. She is in her 60s, and has worked full time as a real estate agent for many years, while seeing her city change drastically through her job.

She lives in a condo building across the street from the cinema we’ve been doing the festival for the last 4+ years and happened to come across us after seeing a “WILDsound FEEDBACK Film Festival” on the marquee from her window. She wondered what that was and hopped across the street to find out. 34 out of the last 37 festivals later, she attends and usually brings a new assortment of people along with her.

She hates horror. Or at least she tells me that, eventhough every single time we do a horror festival she attends.

“I don’t like being scared, but I come for two reasons.” she told me after watching this festival.

“#1: The films are great from an artistic standpoint. There is such originality in the filmmaking. I am shocked how talented these people are and the things they come up with, but also the execution and genius photography that is always in the selected films.”

“#2: The audience feedback, especially for the horror/scary festivals. I learn so much and appreciate how and why people love horror so much. I was small minded in my thinking that horror was stupid, but this festival and the people have taught me so much. It got me out of my ideological bubble.”

I found her comments very interesting and a nice metaphor of thinking in today’s political climate. Always expand your bubble and watch HORROR while you’re at it!

See you at the festivals!
